Seville
In April 2025 we visited the
historic city of Seville, or "Sevilla", Spain.
Located in the southwest of the country with a population of
about 2 million people, it's the fourth largest city in Spain.
This 2,200 year old town has struck a great balance of
preserving and showcasing the old, while also being a thriving
modern city

Plaza de
Espana
The most famous square in Seville Spain is located in the Maria
Luisa park.
The 'Plaza de España' was created for the Ibero-American
exhibition of 1929 to symbolise peace with the former colonies.
A highlight of this 'Spanish square' are the 52 benches with
Andalusian tiles that represent all Spanish provinces.

Alcazar of Seville
or Royal Palace
The name 'Alcazar'
means castle in Spanish and is derived from the Arabic word
al-qasr (fortress or palace).
The complex of palaces is in the Mudéjar style, which is a
architectural style with many influences from Moorish and
Christian culture.
It is probably the oldest palace still in use in Europe; when King
Felipe V visits Seville, this UNESCO-listed palace is still his
residence.
