Serengeti Plain
This is the real deal - the "endless
plains".
It spans approximately
30,000 sq km (12,000 sq mi).
The Serengeti has some of East
Africa's finest game areas.
Besides being known for the great migration, the
Serengeti is also famous for its abundant large predators.
It is home to over 3,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 8,000
spotted hyenas, and more
zebras and wildebeests than you count!

After about a 100 mile drive on dirt roads from Lake
Manyara, we have arrived at the entrance.
The Serengeti is a national park and access is
controlled.
Our Safari team was:
John & Blakey
Ahmed Mohamed
- a great Guide.
Sheila & Trevor Darrington - from the UK.

Not far up the road is the official registration
checkpoint, and some great views.
As we got further into the park,
views became dramatic.
